Produced late in 2019, this Evo specification 488 GTE was delivered new to the Iron Lynx team ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans the following year. A fire ended its sole outing during the 2020 season. It was pressed back in service in 2021 when it scored three GTE class wins in the European Le Mans Series. Chassis 3858 was also entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for a second time, this time finishing 27th overall and third in class. Iron Lynx continued to race the 488 GTE Evo during the following with another ELMS campaign and select outings in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Among them were entries in the 2022 Sebring 1000 Miles and, for a third time, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A fitting finale to the three-season racing career of 3858 came a the Portimão ELMS round where it was driven to another LMGTE class win by Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting and Doriane Pin. Following its retirement, it was restored to its 2021 Le Mans podium finishing livery. Retained by the original owner, it was consigned to a dedicated RM Sotheby’s auction along with the rest of the ‘Tailored for Speed Collection.’
